Continuous Community Learning

We all have learnt, did projects (complete/incomplete) on cloud computing. However cloud is still something new to many ppl. over it ppl kip posting. what is cloud all about. I have a plan. Y not list cloud computing as a chapter in the community. where it starts from basics of cloud computing like:

what is cloud computing ?

why cloud computing?

areas of it (SAAS  PAAS IAAS etc....)

companies providing the same

GAE and so on....

just the way we learnt it. so that new students who come in to learn the same... can be directed to this thread and over here if they have any questions they can ask it then an there...

we shall try and kip the description short and simple, so that it shouldnt sound boring. I think this initiative should be taken by the students who have already learnt it.... what say??

Its a good initiative. If you check the home page of the Cloud Computing Group  at the url below we have put in the list of posts in a specific order which help someone starting of new to get through the concepts. Its a very long list and if you go through all of them you should understand a lot about the cloud.

What would be more useful is for folks to read each of the posts, and start discussing and posting their questions and inputs and understanding against this thread.

Hi Roshan,

If you see the community, Kaushik has already posted a pretty good post containing links for getting started with cloud computing and it clears quite a lot of basics. The main problem we have is that people don't read the posts, they don't research before jumping in to ask questions. I think we should motivate them to read the material first and then come up with specific queries.

Cheers,

Nikhil

found this training link on google recently.... seems really helpful

Actually that is training for Google Apps which is more Software as a Service. For Google App Engine check out this code labs below, this is very useful and very easy for folks starting off.
