Continuous Community Learning
4000wordz.com is a website developed by me and my friends, to help the students appearing for competitive exams like GRE, TOFEL etc to increase their vocabulary in faster way!
Initially the project was started on a trial basis, so as to get a better experience of what we have studied (PHP , JavaScript, HTML), however, then we decided to take it to a level where in it can be use full to everyone...
Then, after some sustained hard work , we finally launched the site in the month of MAY, and has got more than 15000hits so far, the bounce rate and the average time spent on the site is also good.
The plan of our team is to make it more and more useful, so that it can used more widely. Though there are many challenges (cross browser compatibility, maintaining databases , bugs(logical errors) etc) that we are facing, hope to overcome them in near future.
Yesterday( 13th August 2011), an article was published in "Times Of India" (page 4 , right hand top corner), so as to motivate the youth (world youth day) to do something different . It really encouraged me to do more, something real , something substantial! I am really feeling good, that i was able to implement my knowledge i had and it was recognised! All thanks to Mr. Hande (Founder of 4000wordz.com).
It really feels good!!!
