About Us

Peepaal is an online and offline community of Students and Industry Professionals collaborating on Technology Trends, Ideas and BE, MCA, MCS IT Projects. The focus of the community to ensure that students get access to information on cutting edge Technology Trend areas and tips and ideas on how to execute better, more effective and socially relevant projects. Peepaal started a few years back when a group of Industry Professionals started visiting colleges in Pune and understanding some of the key challenges faced by students and faculty in ensuring relevance in today's IT education curriculum.

How did it Start ?

The Peepaal initiative was born out of various interactions with students, faculty and our experience with freshers entering theindustry. Each of these experiences reemphasized the significant need for Industry to play a very strong collaborative role in shaping students and supporting faculty in delivering industry relevant knowledge to students to ensure they are more well rounded professionals by the time they enter the industry. It was also clear that this is not possible without continuous support from the industry and a collaborative model for delivering knowledge, best practices and processes. Why is it Free ?

Peepaal is a non-profit and free community and it has been active since July 2008 and the initiative has already impacted close to 1000 students in various colleges across Pune.  Well its free because it can be !! All of us involved in Peepaal have paying day jobs and the cost of hosting and running Peepaal is low compared the value and the impact it can generate as a free service.

Which colleges do we visit for conducting technology sessions ?

Well we really do not have a list. We would love to visit every college in Pune if you do invite us. However given the limited amount of bandwidth we have, we naturally limit ourselves to the most enthusiastic crowds. So if you think you are a group of highly interested and motivated students who would benefit from our discussions drop us an email and we would be glad to plan out something.

Our Mission

Our mission at Peepaal is to democratize education and knowledge. With the explosion of technology and the internet every student in India can get access to the same knowledge and information as the best in the world. We believe that every student in India why even somewhere in a remote village in India should have the opportunity to dream out and work on the most cutting edge advanced technology and lack of information should not be a hindrance to such a dream.

Our Vision

We dream of the next iPod or Android being built in a college in India. Or maybe even better we dream of a product focused on India, a technology or a product which can revolutionize mass education, literacy or maybe finance. We dream of a community that can enable all of this to happen.
