1. Idea

It’s an android application for mobile security and data backup.

Its 3 main features are:

1. Anti theft:

It asks for a password and a reference mobile number while installing the app. A Confirmation code is sent to the reference number for verification. At the detection of sim change, the app starts. The phone gets blocked and an app screen appears asking for password. After 3 wrong attempts, the tracking process starts. It send the new sim no. ,phone no. , the sim card company name at once and later the location of the stolen mobile is sent at regular intervals to reference mobile via messages.

Simultaneously, we can send messages from the reference mobile to the stolen mobile to wipe out data (phone and SD-card) thus ensuring that the data will not be exposed to any outsider.

2. Data backup:

Backup data includes messages, contact information, calendar (appointments, reminders, notes, to do lists etc).

Back option will be manual or automatic (customizable).

Manual option involves taking back up of sd card data as well.

Automatic option takes back up of data automatically after a specified fixed time interval.

The data will be pushed onto Google docs.

3. Call block and SMS block:

This feature allows you to receive the calls and messages of only a few selected contacts. Thus useful at the time of important meetings and such situations when you want to block unwanted calls or messages.

Comment by mrugendra thatte on April 20, 2012 at 12:46am: Im doing Call Block feature.... and to receive incoming call im using BroadcastReceiver and PhoneStateChangedListener.. but the problem the actual methods to cut the incoming call are in ITelephony class. but as i found android 2.1 does not have that class.. so any solution for that?

i would appreciate if someone can give the solution asap like in 1-2 days... thanx :-)

We had to show poc today so we have started off with reading contents of a message (assuming it came from ref phone) and performing the action. For now, tried deleting messages, it worked for normal case but if we send more than 1 messages from the same no., like when a conversation gets formed, then not all messages are deleted. We'll work on it. All 3 of of us have to go for Quick Heal Connect so won't be attending peepaal sessions. We'll show it to nikhil sir tom after our .NET lec & keep you updated on peepaal. Thanks..
