                                    PUNE-RIDER

PROBLEM STATEMENT AND SCOPE

Problem Statement:

  • To develop an Android application which will help common user to witness the Tourists spots in Pune by giving information about the various places and famous restaurants as well as local food hangouts in Pune.

What is the problem it intends to solve?

  • It is very difficult for a person completely new to a particular place, (for instance: Pune) to find out about tourists places and famous hangouts without a city guide or someone’s consultance. Especially finding out remote locally famous food spots which are not listed on any website or city guides.
  • Pune_Rider will help the common user to find their way through the Pune city with ease and also can recommend people whether to visit a particular place or not by giving their reviews or comments.
  • It will make finding any food or tourists relevant info easy at one place on the tip your finger without wasting time on hitting various sites on the web.

Why it needs to be solved?

  • When a tourists or anyone visit a particular place in Pune, food is second most priority thing that comes into the mind after visiting that place. Normally it is searched by asking people nearby or searching it on web.
  • The App will facilitate the user along with the food hangout options available at the place where the user is present at the very moment, instead of making a separate search altogether.

Scope Of Project

  • Giving the user the search options that are most commonly used, in one App when anybody wants to explore Pune.
  • Providing some historical briefing and references about a particular tourists spot.
  • Giving them list of recommendations about the tourists spots and food hangout, allowing the user to recommend a particular place by giving their comments, likes or rating about a particular hangout which can be shared by all.
  • Maintaing the check-in list of users for a specific venue.
  • If someone wants to open their own food spot in Pune, allowing such people to fetch the venue information.
  • For newly created food spots the owner can observe the customer feedback via tips etc., pulling real-time data on who’s at your venue now.
  • Help them to manage and create specials at their venues and publicizing their food spots by creating and managing their campaigns

Novelty Of Idea

  • Using  foursquare and Zomato API for handling the business logic.
  • Using the Google cloud for handling the back-end activities.

The R& D elements in our project are as follows:

  • foursquare API
    • foursquare API gives you access to all of the data used by foursquare mobile applications.
    • It is developed by Foursquare Labs, Inc (USA).
    • The foursquare platform basically consists of four API

A couple of questions...

1. Why isn't there uniformity in the size of the screens? The home screen is hugely disproportinate as compared to the other screens. This app is created for mobiles right? Scale down the screen sizes accordingly.

2. I don't see a master layout. There are certain things that should remain uniform in your screen eg. the header, the current page title, the status bar, etc.

3. Why do the veg/ non-veg screen buttons have '_' ?

4. Why are the buttons showing different colors for different screens?

5. Isn't your app handling registration of the user?
