Report of the interactive session on "Introduction to Cloud Computing and Google App Engine hands on lab" at RYK College, Nashik

With the permission from Wadia College ,Peepaal Committee and Prof. Anuradha Ahire (RYK College), a seminar was organized at RYK college, Computer Science Department. It was held on 17^th Sept 2010, a one day event.It started from 9.30 to 3pm, which was divided into two section -

 9.30am - 12.30pm  Introduction to Cloud Computing and

     1pm –  3pm          Hands on lab google app engine.

Around 110 students of RYK College attended the session from various field - MCA, MCS.

Jagannath Patil and Purnima Iyer started with What is Cloud Computing, features, types, flavours and examples, What Cloud Computing is and what it is not, a detail example was taken - Question bank for students. Session was very well interactive (as it was requested to college for no faculty during session), so frequency with student was well tunned :) . 

The detail example of Question bank  helped student to understand Where, how and why to use cloud computing concept. Students answered the question and even raised their queries which was satisfactorily solved. Session not only involved discussion about Cloud Computing but also students discussed about their current project and about placements.

The second part Hands on, here the real interest of student was raised, most of the student were ready with their laptops and net connection. We (Needhi,Preeti,Sumit and Priyanka) helped students personally during SetUp for Ecllipse, Google Account and even showed them a Helloworld application. Shital and Aparna prepared the guestbook application.

We introduced them the peepaal website, the help we got from our mentors, our ETRAQ project , and offcourse the help regarding placement like CV review from the industrial guides.

It was a great experience, got a very warm welcome by the college, and great appreciation from them.
